Waterville Friends of Lesotho funded the development of vocational classrooms at this secondary school. Woodwork and Home Economics are now offered as exam subjects at the school.

Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne, An Daingean operate a Transition Year linking programme. Nine students have visited Morate in the past three years. Two teachers from Morate have visited Ireland and it is planned to bring students and a teacher to Ireland from Kolonyama in May 2010.

A CD of traditional music was made by the choir of Morate English Medium High School in September 2008.

The school has embarked on its first work experience programme at Setsoto Design Weaving Gallery.
